Frequently Asked Questions

Why is a Belgium cut diamond a better buy than any other?
A Belgium cut diamond is cut to the highest standards in the world, taking advantage of the diamonds ability to produce maximum brilliance and fire. Many diamonds are cut to the wrong proportions and consequently lack sparkle and flashes of colour.

How do I save money by buying a Belgium Cut diamond, surely these diamonds are more expensive to buy?
Belgium cut diamonds are more expensive, so when you buy a made-up piece of jewellery featuring one of these stones, it will cost you more money. You can save a considerable amount of money by having one purchased for you directly from the diamond merchants and cutters, thereby eliminating the middle man.

I am interested in purchasing a Spirit of Flanders cut diamond. What choices do I have?
The Spirit of Flanders diamonds are cut from larger stones - .30ct up. Nationwide Jewellers headquarters keep a range of stones which may fit the criteria you are interested in, but because there is only a limited supply, you may have to wait for a month of two before a suitable stone is cut for you, but the wait is well worth while!

When are the trips to Antwerp?
Paula goes to Antwerp once a year, the next trip will be in September 2010.

When do I need to make a commitment?
We can take orders up to the first week of March.

Is a deposit required?

After committing to a diamond, how long is it before I receive my stone?
Allow approximately two to three weeks after the trip due to customs regulations.

Can I get any help with choosing a jewellery style for my stone?
Yes. We have excellent jewellery manufactures to make up your stone and can advise you on the style that will best suit your needs.

Can I upgrade existing jewellery by replacing stones with a Belgium cut stone?

I don't want a diamond till a later date in the year. Can I only order diamonds for the March trip?
Yes. As a regular Antwerp buyer, Paula is a member of the Diamond Buyers Club and can purchase stones through a broker or directly from the Antwerp Dealers. However, she is not able to select the stone personally for you, although you can be sure the choice will be of the highest quality for your budget.
